The University of Sheffield is offering three Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships for international students planning to begin their studies in September 2025.
International development is a key focus at the University of Sheffield. Its strategy includes a commitment to improving lives through international partnerships, both locally and globally.
In collaboration with the Sheffield Institute for International Development and the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, the university is offering scholarships to students from developing countries, including India. The scholarships are available for various programs linked to the Sheffield Institute for International Development. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides a maintenance stipend of £12,500.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold an offer of study from the University of Sheffield for the 2025-26 academic year in one of the following courses: International Public and Political Communication MA, Global Journalism MA, International Political Economy MA, International Law and Global Justice LLM (a selected pathway of the Sheffield LLM course), International Development (Masters in Public Health) MPH, Environmental Change and International Development MSc, or International Development MA.
- Be classified as an international student for tuition fee purposes.
- Hold a qualification equivalent to or higher than the program they are applying for.
- Have not studied outside their home country before.
- Be self-funded and not receiving any other scholarship.
- Plan to join a full-time course at the University of Sheffield in 2025.
Applicants can access the application form once they have received an offer for one of the eligible postgraduate courses. It may take up to 24 hours after receiving the offer to access the form. Applications must be submitted using the MUSE for offer holders login.
