Today, the Lok Sabha is likely to see the introduction of the Immigration and Foreigners Bill 2025. The main goal of this bill is to update and combine India’s immigration laws.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will ask for permission to introduce the bill. This bill will give the Central Government certain powers. These powers will be used to set rules about passports or other travel documents for people entering and leaving India. It will also regulate matters related to foreigners. This includes rules about visas, registration, and other connected or related things.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who is the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology, and BJP MP Anil Baluni have important tasks today. They will table the sixth report. This report is about the action the government has taken on the observations and recommendations from the Committee’s Fifty – sixth Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha). That report was about ‘Regulation of Cable Television in India’ and was related to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Besides this, they will also present the seventh report. This one is about the action the government has taken on the observations and recommendations from the Committee’s Fifty – fourth Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha). That report was on ‘Digital Payment and Online Security Measures for Data Protection’ and was related to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
