Davidson College has earned recognition as a top Fulbright producer for the 12th time, marking the 10th consecutive year it has received the honor. The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs awarded Davidson this distinction due to the achievements of its recent graduates, who are teaching and studying around the world.
In the 2024-2025 Fulbright competition, nine Davidson applicants were selected as finalists. Last month, one of the alternates was promoted to finalist status, bringing the total to 10.
Fulbright grants are supporting these students as they pursue graduate studies and serve as English teaching assistants in various countries. Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright program has helped more than 400,000 individuals—including students, artists, and professionals—study, teach, and conduct research abroad.
The Fulbright program’s mission is to foster global understanding by bringing together bright minds from different cultures to share knowledge, promote goodwill, and collaborate on solving the world’s most urgent issues.
