DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is offering foreign expatriates the opportunity to invite friends or family members for stays of up to 90 days under its Friend or Relative Visa program.
According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, residents, including Pakistani nationals, can access the service through the authority’s website or mobile app.
The program is designed to reunite family members and friends with those living in the UAE for work or business purposes.
Visa Details and Duration
The authority provides both single-entry and multiple-entry visas, with durations ranging from 30 to 90 days. Applicants can also apply for an extension during their stay. The visa allows entry up to 60 days from the approval date.
Application Process
To apply, residents, including those from Pakistan, must log in to the authority’s website or app using their digital identity. After logging in, applicants can choose the visa type and duration before submitting their request.
Requirements for the Visa
To be eligible for the visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A valid passport with at least six months of validity
- A travel ticket
- Valid health insurance
- The applicant must be a friend or relative of the foreign resident, either of the first or second degree
- The resident must hold a first- or second-level job in the UAE
This service aims to facilitate family and friend reunions for those living and working in the UAE.
