Kempegowda International Airport now offers fast-track immigration with e-gates, enhancing convenience for Indian and OCI travelers across seven major airports.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at simplifying international travel for Indian citizens and OCI cardholders, launching it virtually from Ahmedabad on Thursday. This initiative, designed to enhance convenience at airports, extends to Bengaluru and six other major hubs nationwide.
At Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport, passengers who register on a dedicated Ministry of Home Affairs portal can skip traditional immigration counters and seamlessly use e-gates for a faster travel experience, confirmed a spokesperson from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
The program, titled Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP), is now live at airports in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, according to a release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB). It was initially rolled out at Terminal 3 of New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport last year.
This forward-thinking initiative aligns with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision and aims to extend its reach to 21 major airports across India, revolutionizing travel processes for millions of passengers.
