Many students planning to study in the United States are preparing their student visas and entry requirements.
How long can the entry time of the US student visa be advanced?
So let’s do the solution here.
1. How long in advance can I enter the United States with a student visa?
The timing of each student visa is based on the school’s admission status and the progress of materials preparation. Students who have identified their U.S. school and obtained the I-20 form can prepare their visa when all the materials are ready.
On the I-20 form, there will be the latest entry time of a student. Three months ahead of the entry time, the earliest visa can be obtained.
One month ahead, that’s the earliest you can enter.
For fall students, the time for a centralized visa is from May to August.
This means that the student visa will be issued no earlier than 120 days before the enrolment date indicated on Form I-20;
If you are traveling to the United States for the first time, you may enter the country only 30 days before the date of enrollment indicated on Form I-20.
1. Prepare Valid Travel Documents before departure. In order to avoid any problems or delays on the transportation schedule, Chinese tourists traveling with the group to the United States must bring their passports, tickets and personal travel supplies, gather at the departure place designated by the travel agency on time, and make preparations for departure.
2. Fill out the Customs Application Form on the Flight to the United States On the flight to the United States, the flight attendant will distribute the I-94 form (Arrival/Departure Record Form) and the United States Customs Declaration Form to the passengers.
Arriving passengers can complete the two forms in advance to speed up customs clearance.
3. Upon arrival at the airport, the immigration officer will check the documents and valid visas held by the arrivals, scan the arrivals’ fingerprints and take photos for comparison, to ensure that the arrivals are indeed those who have obtained visas to the United States in their domestic embassies and consulates.
4. You may be asked to go to the secondary screening area. If an immigration officer is suspicious of an entry, or if an entry is randomly checked, the boarding pass will be marked with SSSS and the entry will be required to wait in the secondary screening area.
Visitors are required to remove their shoes and belts, and may be asked to remove their coats, if they contain metal, for inspection.
Us searchers should be courteous and conduct their searches in a professional and respectful manner.
Otherwise, they can report to the customs and ask for help, or to the Chinese Embassy in the United States for help.
After admission, the immigration officer stamps the I-94 form with the date of entry, visa status, and length of stay, and collects the top half of the form.
(6) Pass the customs and leave the airport to claim the checked baggage at the corresponding baggage carousel.
Customs officials will collect customs declaration forms and may check the baggage of an incoming person for contraband and for taxes.
After passing the last stop at customs and border control, you can leave the airport or transfer.
