Notes and requirements for studying abroad in Hungary

There are many things to pay attention to when studying in Hungary, which will be troubled by the climate, environment, language and other factors. In order to better integrate into the local life, I have sorted out the following things and requirements for you to pay attention to. Let’s take a look.

Studying abroad means living there for a long time, so Climate is especially important.

In Hungary, each season is beautiful and different, and each season has its own special activities.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons to enjoy nature and the countryside.

There are many festivals and outdoor activities in summer, and you can enjoy swimming in Hungary’s many wonderful lakes and waters.

Winter will be full of Christmas flavor, markets and falling snow, and you can soak in the famous spa to help rejuvenate yourself during the cold days.

The Hungarians have their own national costumes, but in their daily life, they still will wear modern clothes. The students can refer to the climate of the northern region of our country, carry daily clothes.

Although Hungary is far away in Central Europe, Hungarians originated from the east and have the free spirit and hospitality of European peoples with the wit, elegance, sincerity and kindness of Asian peoples.

People with dark eyes, black hair and dark skin are very common here. Hungarian food is very similar to northern Chinese food, so it is very popular with Chinese tourists. Do you suddenly feel much more friendly?

For example, not clink glasses when drinking, a taboo that originated when Hungary lost a war to Austria in 1849;

Don’t turn down an offer of palinka, a fruity brandy, a Hungarian favorite; it might be considered a sign of disrespect;

It is better not to break glassware, which Hungarians consider a bad omen…

Hungary is in the European Union but it hasn’t been in the euro zone so although it is possible to use the euro locally, it may not be very cost-effective and not all businesses accept it.

The local currency, the forint, is recommended.

There are many exchange points in Hungary. Be sure to exchange money through official channels. It is better not to exchange money at the airport.

If you’ve just arrived in Hungary and don’t have a lot of forints with you, you can use a dual-currency credit card with a chip to withdraw forints directly from an ATM. An old magnetic stripe credit card can’t be used to withdraw money, but it can be used for normal purchases.

In Budapest, there is an ATM on almost every street corner.

5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 forints are coins, and above 500 forints are notes, with 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and the largest denomination 20,000.
