In 1929, Richar S. Stephens, the art director of Sunset magazine, founded San Francisco University of the Arts. From the initial advertising and art direction, it has now grown to 22 departments, 50 majors, 132 undergraduate and master’s degrees, and 45 students to nearly 20,000 students.

1. There is no specific requirement for undergraduate language score, 6+ is recommended;
Toefl: There is no clear requirement, 70+ is recommended. If the language is not up to the standard, you can go to school to study the language.
The school offers dual admission and ESL courses. The San Francisco University of the Arts accepts both undergraduate and postgraduate applications without language scores. Those with a bachelor’s degree can apply for a second bachelor’s degree.
Students whose English scores do not meet the direct admission requirements are specially offered English courses (ESL). Students can study art and design courses while taking English courses according to their English ability.
Undergraduate Art Study Abroad Portfolio Requirements Portfolio is not necessary, but can be submitted on the portfolio submission website to credit basic or professional courses.
2. There is no clear requirement for the language score of graduate students, so 6+ is recommended.

Postgraduate Art Portfolio for Overseas Study requires a series of works that can reflect one’s artistic ability. Applicants who have a bachelor’s degree but do not have a portfolio can still apply.

The head of each department will assess the applicant’s ability and recommend the required courses to meet the graduate admission criteria and help them better prepare for graduate study.
