British Columbia has conducted a recent draw through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), resulting in the issuance of 67 invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
The draw, held on July 9, included invitations under both general and targeted categories to address specific labour market needs in the province.
Under the general draw, candidates in the Skilled Worker category needed to score a minimum of 134 points to receive an invitation. This criterion applied to various streams such as Skilled Worker – EEBC (Express Entry British Columbia), International Graduate, and International Graduate – EEBC. However, candidates in the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category were required to achieve a lower minimum score of 110 points.
Simultaneously, a targeted draw addressed specific labour market demands across different sectors. In the childcare sector, for instance, professionals needed a minimum score of 94 points, resulting in 10 invitations. Similarly, the construction industry required a minimum score of 95 points, with 9 invitations issued. Healthcare professionals faced a higher threshold of 104 points, garnering 12 invitations, while the veterinary care sector had a minimum score of 80 points, issuing fewer than five invitations.
