Carrollton High School’s Class of 2024 has achieved a remarkable milestone, receiving nearly $15 million in scholarship offers from various colleges, universities, and private entities. This significant achievement underscores the academic excellence and diverse talents of the graduating seniors.
Among the highlights of the scholarship awards, five students were honored with $10,000 awards from the REACH Georgia Scholarship program for their outstanding commitment to academic achievement. These recipients, Jace Black, Angelina Jackson, Sophia Morales, Nour Nazim, and A’Jaiah Ward, demonstrated exceptional dedication and will use these scholarships to pursue higher education in Georgia.
Carrollton High School’s emphasis on academics, arts, and athletics has also been recognized through individual achievements:
Andrew Albertus received a substantial scholarship totaling over $120,000 to Presbyterian College.
Regan Kelley earned the prestigious Hagan Scholarship, covering her full tuition at the University of Miami.
Edward Kenyon was awarded the National Merit University of Georgia Scholarship.
Shad McMillan secured the Gates Scholarship, covering his entire tuition at the University of Georgia.
Hagan Russell received a generous scholarship totaling nearly $170,000 to Mercer University.
Autumn Martin was awarded an $83,000 scholarship to Emory University.
Sophia Morales received a full ride through the Questbridge Scholarship to Washington and Lee University.
Sarah Scholl was awarded the National Merit University of Alabama Scholarship.
Principal Ian Lyle expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, emphasizing their well-rounded nature and multi-talented attributes nurtured at Carrollton High School. He expressed confidence that these graduates will continue to excel and bring honor to their alma mater throughout their college journeys.
Out of the 431 graduating seniors, a significant portion, 285 students, are eligible for the HOPE Scholarship, providing substantial tuition support for in-state institutions amounting to nearly $2 million. This demonstrates Carrollton High School’s commitment to supporting diverse futures, with 75% of graduates planning to attend two- or four-year colleges, 21% entering the workforce, and 4% enlisting in the military.
