The Integrated Translational Health Research Institute of Virginia (iTHRIV) is equipping University of Virginia (UVA) scientists with new skills and experiences to advance their research.
“We create numerous opportunities for new faculty to learn how to be competitive in writing grant applications and conducting clinical translational research,” explained Jason Papin from UVA Health.
The iTHRIV scholarship program encompasses a wide range of research areas.
“We support the development of faculty working in neurology on Alzheimer’s disease, as well as those tackling issues related to obesity and cancer,” Papin added.
Papin emphasized that the impact of this research extends beyond the university.
“Here in Charlottesville, these diseases affect many people we know. Having experts close to us who are at the forefront of medical advancements and supporting healthcare in curing these debilitating diseases is invaluable,” he said.
