Raegan Meyer, a senior in Coastal Carolina’s women’s soccer program, has been honored as one of eight recipients of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Postgraduate Scholarship.
Meyer’s achievement adds to the accolades of Coastal Carolina, as the university stands out as the sole institution within the Sun Belt Conference to boast two scholarship recipients, with Maj Tomac from the men’s tennis team also earning this prestigious recognition.
Graduating from CCU with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Pre-law, Meyer maintained an outstanding 4.0 GPA throughout her academic journey. Her dedication to excellence has led her to be accepted into the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she will further pursue her educational pursuits.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Meyer contributed to the Chanticleers’ women’s soccer program, appearing in 14 matches with three starts and accumulating 310 minutes of playing time. Hailing from Wake Forest, N.C., Meyer’s commitment to both academic and athletic endeavors earned her a spot on the Academic All-Big South Conference team. Prior to her tenure at Coastal Carolina, she showcased her athletic prowess at USC Upstate, where she scored one goal before transferring to Coastal.
The Sun Belt Conference Postgraduate Scholarships are granted to student-athletes who have expressed their intention to pursue a graduate degree upon completing their undergraduate requirements. These scholarships are directly disbursed to the graduate schools chosen by the recipients. The selection process is overseen by the Sun Belt Postgraduate Scholarship Committee, consisting of Faculty Athletic Representatives from various institutions across the conference.
