Ballot Period:
Open Dates: June 3 to August 1, 2024.
Eligibility: Family members (partner and legally-dependent children) can be included in the application.
Primary Applicant Criteria:
Age: 18 to 45 years.
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of one of the participating PEV countries (Fiji, FSM, Nauru, Palau, PNG, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu).
Birth Requirement: Must be born in, or have a parent born in, one of the participating countries, Australia, Kiribati, NZ, RMI, or Samoa.
Passport: Required for the primary applicant (not required for other family members).
Application Process:
Submit applications online via the Australian Department of Home Affairs’ ImmiAccount.
Applications can be submitted from anywhere in the world.
Application Fee: A$25 (one-time fee regardless of family members included).
After the Ballot:
Notification: Selected applicants will receive a “Notification of Selection” letter from the Australian Department of Home Affairs with an application expiry date, giving them 120 days (4 months) to complete the following steps:
Job Offer: Secure a job offer in Australia (assistance provided by the Australian government’s free PEV Support Service).
Health Check: Undergo a health examination.
Police Check: Complete a police background check.
English Language Test:
Exemptions: If you completed secondary school in your country, worked or studied at the secondary level in Australia for a year, lived for a year in the US, UK, Canada, or New Zealand, or undertake to improve your English in Australia via study.
Passports for Family Members: Ensure all family members included in the application have valid passports.
Financial Support: Demonstrate the ability to support yourself for the first 12 months in Australia. Details on whether this requires more than a job offer are pending.
Fee: A$325 per primary applicant and A$80 per family member.
