Three area students were recently awarded the prestigious Pat Lund Post Secondary Scholarship, a scholarship that holds special significance for both the recipients and KTTC, the news station.
Named after Pat Lund, who served as KTTC’s sports director for over 30 years and was an alumnus of the Reading Center in Rochester, the scholarship aims to honor Lund’s legacy and support students facing challenges like dyslexia.
This year’s recipients, Brooke Blegen, Anders Braaten, and Audrey Redalen, expressed their gratitude for the recognition of their hard work and dedication. For them, receiving the scholarship validated their efforts in overcoming obstacles and achieving academic success.
Despite facing challenges from dyslexia throughout his life, Lund found success in his career and became an inspiration to many. The scholarship, dedicated to his memory, serves as a reminder that with determination and passion, anyone can overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams.
The scholarship, administered by the Reading Center, provides $1,000 per year for up to four years of college to alumni of the center who are pursuing higher education.
