The Valeo Foundation demonstrated its commitment to supporting staff members’ educational goals by hosting a luncheon to celebrate the recipients of this year’s scholarship awards.
On Tuesday, May 28, seven staff members were honored with scholarships to aid in their educational pursuits. Among the recipients was Krista Gomez, who received the prestigious Stephanie Mott scholarship, named in memory of a former Valeo staff member.
“I feel honored. It’s really special to me, and it honestly helps a lot financially while going through school, which is one of the burdens you face when you’re trying to study and manage everything else,” said Gomez.
Bill Persinger, CEO of Valeo Behavioral Health Care, encouraged staff members to apply for the scholarships to further their education and career prospects. “We were inspired by the dedication of our staff and the high costs of higher education, which is worth every penny, by the way. This scholarship helps people who are just starting out in their careers,” Persinger said.
Since the inception of the scholarship program seven years ago, the Valeo Foundation has awarded $45,000 to assist staff members in enhancing their skills and advancing their careers.
“You have to help the staff for them to help you,” said Barb Montgomery, Valeo Foundation chair. “In any career, having a good staff is crucial.”
The Valeo Foundation remains committed to supporting their staff annually through these scholarship awards, fostering professional growth and development within the organization.
