Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc (BCFI), the philanthropic arm of Solaire Resort Entertainment City, has unveiled an ambitious nationwide medical scholarship initiative aimed at addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals in the country.
The newly launched program, as outlined in details provided to IAG, sets out to nurture and graduate a total of 763 students across various disciplines within the medical and healthcare fields, including medicine, nursing, allied health services, sciences, and caregiving.
Partnering with Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc (PSFI), BCFI seeks to combat the prevailing trend of medical practitioners seeking opportunities abroad, thus contributing to the depletion of local healthcare resources.
The program’s inauguration took place on May 9th at St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine, one of BCFI’s esteemed university collaborators among its 15 partners nationwide.
The initiative underscores Bloomberry’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, amplifying its impact beyond the realm of entertainment and hospitality. The foundation’s endeavor aligns with its overarching mission to cultivate a robust and sustainable healthcare ecosystem, ensuring the availability of competent professionals to meet the nation’s evolving healthcare needs.
Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, the parent company of BCFI, recently reported robust gross gaming revenues amounting to Php14.8 billion (US$256 million) for the quarter ending March 31, 2024. This financial success serves as a testament to Bloomberry’s steadfast dedication to driving economic growth and social development in the Philippines.
