Gabriella Garozzo, a junior at Babson College hailing from Haverhill, has been awarded a scholarship for her studies in accounting by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs).
Recognized at a networking event held last evening, Garozzo was among 51 students chosen to receive the merit- and need-based Gregory T. O’Gorman CPA Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, have been granted by MassCPAs since 2006, totaling over 400 awards and $1.9 million distributed from donations. The funds can be utilized for various expenses including tuition, books, interviewing costs, and other educational needs.
“Allie Orlando, director of academic and career development at MassCPAs, expressed the organization’s commitment to cultivating a diverse and skilled accounting workforce. She stated, “These scholarships address financial barriers and create opportunities for deserving students. We are deeply grateful to our individual and firm donors who share our vision. Together, we are building a stronger future for the accounting profession in Massachusetts.”
