Germany and Japan both have 161 visa-free countries.
Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy, France and Spain are in third place with 160 visa-free countries each.
Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Portugal and the UK rank fourth, with 159 visa-free countries each.
Historically, European countries, especially Germany, have dominated the list.
Analysts at Arton Capital have noted an increase in Asian countries entering the top rankings in recent years.
“What we’ve seen so far is that the top two countries are Asian countries.”
“It speaks to the growing respect and trust that Asian countries have around the world,” said Armand Arton, founder of Arton Capital.
The recent change in the ranking is mainly due to Uzbekistan granting visa-free access to South Korea and Singapore, as well as recent changes to Somalia’s visa policy.
