Living expenses The cost of living in the College hostel includes rent, meals (fully catered), heating and cleaning, Internet and full use of the social area.
Durham Campus: Accommodation fee of 29.3 weeks for fully catered colleges: ¡ê3,945 Accommodation fee of 38.3 weeks for self-catered colleges (suite type rooms) : ¡ê3,705;
¡ê4,530 for 50 weeks.
Queen’s Campus: Accommodation in self-catering colleges (suites) is charged at ¡ê2,823 for 33.3 weeks.
Other living expenses such as books, telephone, clothing and leisure: ¡ê3,000.
The total cost (one year) is about ¡ê16,000-¡ê19,000.
Academic Requirements: Students who have completed the first year of a bachelor’s degree program at a prestigious university in China and have achieved an average of 85 points (based on percentage conversion) can directly apply for the first year of a Bachelor’s degree program at Durham University.
The Chinese High School Graduation Certificate (Gaokao) is not suitable for direct examination.
Students are required to complete another qualification or apply directly for a preparatory course.
Different degree programs have different qualifications.

Language Requirements: If you are not a native English speaker and you are not a student from an English-speaking country, you will need to prove to Durham that your English level meets the minimum entry requirements.

3. Language requirements for postgraduate application: for general majors, IELTS is required to have a total score of 7, and a score of 6.5 or more in each of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
