Educational Testing Service (ETS) has announced a new partnership with Career Mosaic, a prominent student recruiter for US universities in South Asia, enabling universities in the United States to validate TOEFL test scores through their Indian study-abroad partners.
This collaboration aims to provide US universities with access to verified scores, enhancing the credibility of student profiles shared with them. Additionally, it is expected to streamline the student enrollment process, reducing administrative burdens for universities and ensuring a more efficient process.
The TOEFL, a standardized test assessing English language proficiency for non-native speakers seeking admission to English-speaking universities, enjoys recognition by over 12,000 institutions in more than 160 countries. It is widely accepted in popular study destinations such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and by over 98% of universities in the UK.
Sachin Jain, Country Manager of ETS India and South Asia, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its role in enhancing universities’ trust in submitted TOEFL scores. He emphasized the commitment of both organizations to providing reliable solutions for evaluating the English language proficiency of prospective students.
Last year, ETS introduced several changes to the TOEFL test, aimed at optimizing the test-taking experience. These changes included reducing the duration of the test to less than two hours and enabling candidates to view their official score release date upon test completion.
Manisha Zaveri, Joint Managing Director at Career Mosaic, underscored the significance of the partnership in enhancing the credibility of student profiles shared with US institutions. She emphasized that the association will reinforce the integrity of TOEFL test scores, benefiting both universities and Indian students aspiring for higher education opportunities in the USA.
Blerina Polovina, Director of International Admissions and Business Development at Webster University USA, welcomed the partnership, noting that validated TOEFL scores will streamline the admission process for universities, expediting student onboarding. She emphasized that validated scores will alleviate the need for English proficiency score verification, ultimately leading to a smoother and more reliable admissions experience for both students and universities.
