Welcome to read!
How does the university student apply for scholarship to study abroad in Italy?
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to study hard, so the application of the scholarship must be related to the student’s academic performance.
Only students with excellent academic performance are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which is why they apply for the Italian scholarship after being admitted, and because the school and the government need students’ academic performance as a reference.
Most university scholarships in Italy are awarded half in advance, and then the other half after the examination is over, if the required credits are achieved by the school (the total score of Italian courses is generally 30 points, the passing score is 18 points, and the credit is successfully obtained by passing the examination);
If you do not achieve the required credits, the school will give students 3 to 5 months to make up the credits;
If you do not meet the final requirements, you need to return all the scholarships given by the school, so study hard and make progress every day.
1) Residential Scholarship and Cash Scholarship When you fill out your application to the university, you will be offered a choice between a residential scholarship and a cash scholarship.
Most undergraduate scholarships in Italy are awarded half in advance and the other half at the end of the exam, if the required number of credits is met (20 at the University of Padua, for example);
If the exam fails to meet the corresponding requirements of the school, the school will give students 3 to 5 months to make up the credits;
If you still do not meet the requirements, you need to return all the scholarships issued by the school, we suggest that students carefully choose.
2) Student Welfare Grants This type of scholarship is awarded based on relevant factors such as family income and has little to do with grades.
In addition, the application method is relatively easy. The required materials will be stated in the university’s admission brochure, and the application time for undergraduate and graduate students is also at the time of admission.
General grants are lower than scholarships, so they are easier to apply for.
Students who submit proof of kinship and proof that their parents’ annual income is between 70,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan to Italian public schools generally receive a stipend of around 500 to 600 euros per year.
With the grant, students can have their accommodation and tuition fees waived, and their daily food costs can be reduced from 20 euros to 2 or 3 euros.
3) Reduced fees Some private art and design colleges in Italy can award proportional scholarships according to students’ learning conditions, such as 100% tuition reduction or 50% registration fee reduction and tuition reduction;
Or 5,000 a year off tuition fees.
The specific regulations vary from school to school, and the specific standards shall be subject to the actual regulations of the school in that year.
August: Generally speaking, applicants for undergraduate scholarships should submit an application form to the school during the official registration in August, filling in relevant information such as family income.
October: University students enrolled in September will submit the above materials to the school in October.
November: Results are announced.
When pre-registering at the university, graduate students fill out whether they need a scholarship under the registration form, which is then submitted to the embassy or university.
Generally, students will not be notified if they apply for a scholarship until they are accepted. (Note: Scholarships for graduate students are awarded based on students’ college grades and descriptions of university courses, etc.)
Scholarship winners apply when they arrive in Italy.
Knowledge of the Italian language is usually required for admission to university, and scholarship winners are required to pass an oral examination at their applying school, usually in early September.
