The U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan has announced an extension of the validity period for new tourist and business visas issued to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. Effective immediately, the validity period has been increased from five to ten years. Additionally, the reciprocal fee of $20 for B1, B2, and B1/B2 visa applications for Kyrgyz passport holders has been eliminated.
This move by the United States aims to streamline travel processes and strengthen the ties between the American and Kyrgyz peoples. It is expected to provide significant benefits to Kyrgyz travelers seeking entry to the United States.
The extended ten-year validity period applies to B1, B2, and B1/B2 visas issued on or after March 4, 2024. It’s important to note that this change does not apply retroactively to visas issued before this date, and the adjustments in validity and reciprocity specifically pertain to the aforementioned visa categories. Additionally, further improvements to consular services are anticipated in the upcoming summer.
