East Tennessee State University’s Education Abroad Office recently offered students an exciting opportunity to turn their dreams of international travel into reality.
From February 13 to 26, ETSU hosted the Study Abroad Scavenger Hunt, allowing students to compete for a chance to win a $300 scholarship. Participants were tasked with searching for clues throughout the campus, with the opportunity to find clues every day of the week and increase their chances of winning.
According to Courtney Lucas, Director of Education Abroad, students who successfully located all five clues were eligible to win one of five $300 study abroad scholarships or one of five study abroad swag bags.
ETSU is dedicated to providing students with various opportunities, scholarships, and programs to facilitate their study abroad aspirations. Immersing oneself in different cultures and experiences while earning academic credits toward their degree is a valuable aspect of the study abroad experience.
For students facing financial constraints, the scavenger hunt offered a creative and engaging way to secure funding for their international journeys.
While the scavenger hunt provided a week-long adventure, students interested in studying abroad can also look forward to Study Abroad Day on February 26.
Lucas expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “Study Abroad Day is on February 26, and the Education Abroad Office has some exciting events planned, including an opportunity to win a study abroad scholarship. We hope you will join us for these fun events and get to know our study abroad ambassadors.”
On Study Abroad Day, students will have the opportunity to attend informational sessions and engage with study abroad ambassadors. Events planned for the day include a Q&A session with ambassadors and a tabling event where students can create bracelets and engage in discussions about studying abroad.
All students with aspirations of studying abroad are encouraged to participate in Study Abroad Day to gain valuable insights and resources for their international endeavors.
