The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has urged all visit visa holders currently in the Kingdom to renew their visas electronically at least seven days before their expiry date.
In a statement published on X on Monday 23 October, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) clarified that there is no need to visit Jawazat offices for extension purposes.
The Directorate stated that the visit visa can be extended through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic services platform, Absher (individuals, companies) or Muqeem electronic portal.
The beneficiary must log in to his or her account on these platforms and pay the service fee for the extension of the visit visa.
The visa holder must meet medical insurance requirements and the maximum extension period for a visit visa is 180 days.
The directorate advised beneficiaries to contact Jawazat through the Absher platform if they encounter difficulties using the electronic service.
It also noted that the directorate’s specialised team will review the case and update the status of the application via SMS.
