In a bid to improve accessibility and streamline visa application services for Nigerians, the British High Commission has unveiled a new temporary UK visa application centre in Enugu State.
The announcement, made in a release on Monday, underscores the British Government’s commitment to facilitating visa processes and providing convenience for Nigerian applicants.
The new application centre is strategically located at Omedel Luxury Hotel, 4/6 Link Road off Pascal and Jerk Bus Stop, Independence Layout, Enugu. Commencing operations on 13 September, the centre will offer a twice-weekly service to cater for the various needs of applicants.
One of the notable features of this new centre is the appointment system, which allows applicants to select Enugu as their preferred application location when applying for a UK visa. This addition complements the existing application centres in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, providing greater accessibility and convenience.
In addition, the Enugu Application Centre has been designated as a Premium Location, offering a range of services at a cost of NGN 246,250.00. This fee includes access to a Premium Lounge appointment, courier return of documents, SMS alerts, general customer support and expert guidance throughout the visa application process. The Premium Services are designed to provide applicants with a convenient and efficient experience.
To ensure optimal service delivery, the British High Commission will closely monitor the demand for visa services at the Enugu Application Centre.
Based on demand, the Commission is prepared to review and potentially expand its offering to effectively serve a greater volume of applicants.
The Commission has appointed TLS (formerly known as VFS Global) to manage this Application Centre. TLS will conduct a thorough trial run of the Enugu site for at least three months to assess the uptake of services and gather valuable data to make informed decisions on the continuation of the centre.
This development follows the recent announcement in August that the UK will open a new visa application centre in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. The Port Harcourt centre is located in the prestigious Présidential Hôtel, 5141 Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and further expands the network of visa services available to Nigerians.
Overall, the establishment of the Temporary Application Centre in Enugu State reflects the British High Commission’s commitment to facilitating visa applications, providing first-class service and enhancing convenience for Nigerian citizens wishing to visit the UK.
The centre, which will commence operations on 13 September, is expected to ease the visa application process for residents of Enugu State and the surrounding regions.
